Damn you, New Years Resolutions

So not too much to highlight this week either. The biggest accomplishments were that I finished a fun class over winter term and I started running again. The class was a great intro to botany for gardeners course that I did not expect to enjoy as much as I did. It was offered as an online course through UMass Amherst’s Stockbridge School of Agriculture. As I said, I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much, but I was happily surprised by both the information I learned (did you know there is a 4000 year old tree in California!?!) and the material that was assigned for reading (some great essays as well as an excellent textbook, The Botany of Desire). If you’re even the least bit interested in learning more about the world around you, give the class a gander. You can read more about it here

And so that brings us to the running. As part of my goals for 2016, I started running again. To say anything more would likely be to jinx it, so I’ll leave it at that.

Again, not much to put forward here, but only because I’ve been real-life busy. Now that the hectic winter session schedule is complete, prepare yourself for imminent awesomeness! Until next week, Internet.

Netflix is the devil

So there’s very little to claim as accomplishments this week. Probably the biggest thing I pulled off was to watch seasons 5 and 6 of Dexter this week. I seriously need to consider selling the tv if I’m going to be more productive this year! But on the good news front, I have spent a good amount of time this week planning out some fun projects for the weeks to come, so do stay tuned. It’ll get better, I swear.

Happy New Year!

It’s here. The first Friday. And I can breathe easy, since this website is now up and running. First project: complete! So this one was kind of a gimme, but I’ll take it. Especially considering that it’s a holiday. I know my bro-in-law is out there waiting to see if I carry through with this Big Experiment, so here it is. First week. Done.

Now for the big question: what to do next Friday? And how should this go from week to week? Got an idea? Drop it in the comments and let’s see what rises to the surface!
